The husband and wife team that is Twin Flame Forge and Glass is truly Old World craftsmanship married to New World innovation. Micah Gustafson is a world-class blacksmith, with a family lineage of blacksmiths that goes back to the 1700's. His great-great grandfathers' forge is featured in the Osby Museum in Sweden. Almost every inch of Micah's work is either hammered, twisted, or curved; endowing each piece in it's entirety with the unique character of a completely hand crafted item. "My goal in every piece is to use ancient techniques, with a conscious minimization of modern electrical tools, to rework Old World designs into contemporary forms". Shannon Gustafson was introduced to the world of glass by her father, then moved on to work with several glass artists and now finally into her own studio. Shannon's stained glass work reflects the elan and esthetics of the West Coast: refined, cosmopolitan and graceful. She takes her inspiration from her family, the natural beauty of the rugged California coast and the mist-shrouded redwoods that surround her home. Shannon and Micah put a lot of extra time into their one of a kind works, they don't compromise technique and process just to get it done more quickly. With a very small exception the old way is not only more durable but endowed with exceptional character.
