Most hand forged lamps suffer from one fundamental problem, you can't run a chord up through the middle of a solid piece of iron! So, after pondering on this limiting factor for a while I eventually came up with a most unique solution, and so was born our four bar lamp series. We start with the legs, hand tapering them, fullering and sculpting out beautiful feet. Next all four legs are endowed with a set of three reverse twist. After the many hours of hammering and twisting are complete the entire piece is then risked in an effort to heat the middle section of the lamp to an almost welding heat, which is but a moment away from melting, and then executing the four bar twist, Phew!! But when that moment is complete I can liken it to climbing a mountain, an absolute thrill. One either side of the large twist are bands of iron with hand chased copper bands overlayed. The lamp base is offered in any variety of twist combinations, or even no twist at all. The shades are made one at a time out of the finest glass available. We design our shades to utilize the unique color and qualities of hand made glass to its fullest potential. Arranging the perfectly shaped pieces of glass into beautiful forms of symmetry that bring light into your home in a warm glow that is unrivaled by any other material. Each shade is a display of color and "craftswomenship" that is as unique as every lamp and every thing that we make.
