Plantain
Inspired by the soothing herb, Plantago lanceolata, this sconce has a diffuser of sarsaparilla-toned stained glass
behind the highly pierced copper front. Each hole was made by drilling
through the sheet and sawing the delicate pattern by hand using a
jeweler's saw with a blade thinner than a mechanical pencil lead. It
sheds a soft, warm glow outward, and projects a brighter hourglass of
light pouring up and down the wall. |
