About the Humboldt Woodworkers Guild

Recognizing the wealth of talent among the woodworkers and artists in Northern California, HWG was formed in 1996 to support and promote people making furniture and furnishings in Humboldt County.

Based on mutual support and cooperation, the Guild seeks to help woodworkers present the beautiful and unique work being made on the northcoast of California to the public.

The Guild offers "Peer Consultancy" sessions and group marketing projects to help individual craftspeople. Membership in the Guild is open to anyone living in Humboldt County, California who is serious about making his or her living building furniture and furnishings. Our craftspeople use a variety of materials in addition to wood.

Working together to make your world more beautiful.

SELLING WHAT YOU MAKE

The Guild has produced a video outlining these very successful classes called, "SELLING WHAT YOU MAKE". Woodworkers, jewelers, potters, any craft can benefit from this dynamic video that offers a six-part program for improving the marketing of craft items. The half- hour presentation is designed for individuals or groups, and explains to craftspeople how to set up their own "Peer Consultancy" sessions. These unique support sessions help any group of craftworkers exchange ideas and get immediate feedback about their marketing. "Selling What You Make," can help you design a successful, profitable, marketing plan.
